Lanna International School recruits qualified teachers with international experience, as well as experienced teachers who wish to leave their home country to begin a career in international education.

We are seeking teachers who can help us to attain the highest educational standards whilst maintaining our friendly and caring atmosphere: something that all of us at Lanna value and cherish. You will join a supportive, energetic and enthusiastic team of teachers who are determined to make high achievement and enjoyment of school life a reality for all of our children.

Please note that the degree must be directly related to the post that you are applying for. A strong preference is given to candidates who have shown a pattern of involvement in extra-curricular activities. Overseas teaching experience is preferred, but not required.

At Lanna, we are committed to student safeguarding. All applicants are required to provide accurate, detailed and verifiable information about their employment history, including any aspects of their past or profile that could affect our reputation or the well-being of our community. All successful candidates are also expected to understand and adhere to Lanna’s code of professional conduct (see links below).

Secondary English Language and Literature Teacher – teaching to IGCSE

Starting January 2025, we are seeking to appoint a highly qualified and exceptional teacher of English Language and Literature to join our Secondary English teaching team. The successful candidate will teach a Year 10 IGCSE class and a selection of  KS3 classes (Years 7 to 9), with the possibility of teaching to A Level in future years, for the right candidate.

Teachers who are not fully qualified and certified teachers of English, and without a relevant degree and experience, need not apply for this position as such applications will not be considered. TEFL/CELTA/TESOL is in no way sufficient. A PGCE (or equivalent full teacher certification) and relevant experience is essential.

The English department at LANNA is very focused on the importance of reading, writing and developing English skills that facilitate success across the whole curriculum. Within the school teachers are encouraged to be innovative and also remain aware of contemporary educational research and how this can inform and improve curriculum delivery. Indeed, departmental members are encouraged to collaborate and participate in action research.

We are seeking a teacher who can bring insightful ideas and innovative classroom practice to engage students. The successful candidate will be an experienced educator, ideally with the additional experience of working with English Language Learners to develop academic writing skills.  In addition to this, the successful candidate will ideally have experience of teaching English within a UK framework at IGCSE. The successful candidate must be confident and secure in their knowledge of English at KS3 and 4. At KS4 (IGCSE) we follow the language and literature syllabuses of Edexcel.

The successful candidate will join a highly focused department that consistently achieves excellent results at both IGCSE and A Level. This is an opportunity to work alongside many dedicated, able and passionate Secondary teachers within a small, but highly successful, innovative, and not least – very friendly school.

To fit in with our existing team of teachers the successful candidate must be hard-working and dedicated. The school promotes high standards in all areas, not just academics. As such, you will be expected to take a full and active role in the life of the school; not only within your classroom and your own subject area. See the Co-curricular section of our website for details of some of the many school activities that take place, and that you would be expected to volunteer to be involved with in some ways.

We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all applicants must be willing to undergo rigorous child protection screening, including checks with past employers and criminal background checks. These checks are always made.
